Frequently asked questions
What conditions does acupuncture help?
chronic pain, allergies, anxiety, depression, back pain, sciatica, stress, fertility issues, gastrointestinal problems, gynecological issues, headaches, migraines, problems with sleep, immunity problems, breathing issues, muscle pain and weakness and much more.
Do I have to be ill to have acupuncture?
No. Acupuncture supports and restores health, vibrancy and vitality. Some folks come because something just doesn’t feel ‘right’ or ‘good’ and they don’t know why. Many come to support major life transitions, in times of stress or just to support their own personal growth.
What does acupuncture feel like?
Acupuncture elicits a sensation but it’s not a sensation of pain. It can feel heavy, tingly, achy or even warm. Acupuncture needles are solid and the width of a human hair. They are individually packaged, sterilized and used only on you. The number of needles used depends on the needs of each individual.
Does insurance cover acupuncture?
Many insurance companies are beginning to cover acupuncture though I do not accept insurance at this time. I can provide you with a receipt/superbill so that you can submit to your insurance company and they would reimburse you directly. I am happy to provide payment plans or a sliding scale. Please feel free to contact me to discuss. Otherwise payment is due at the time of treatment.
What does it cost?
The Initial Consultation/Treatment is $125.00 (90 minutes) and Follow-up Treatments are $85 (45 minutes to an hour).
How often do I need to come?
Initially you will need to commit to a handful of weekly treatments and as you improve treatments are spaced out. The duration of a course of treatment depends on why you are coming, your condition, how long you have suffered with it and it’s severity.
